Situated at the head of spectacular Loch Leven, nestling between the Mamore hills and the Pap of Glencoe, this splendid rural village in the heart of the Scottish Highlands is the ideal base for touring this unspoilt area of outstanding natural beauty.

Enjoying a central location in Kinlochleven with exceptional views within this Highland community, these holiday apartments and glamping pods have been lovingly created to provide superior comfortable accommodation within easy walking distance from village amenities and the world-famous West Highland Way.  All our properties benefit from spectacular views.

Kinlochleven boasts the world’s largest indoor ice-climbing facilities at the Ice Factor (re-opening in 2024).  The village offers visitors a real taste of the Highlands and is a wonderful base for visiting Glencoe, Oban and Fort William (the Outdoor Capital of the UK) – a renowned region for hill walking and mountain climbing in some of Scotland’s highest peaks – a Munro-bagger’s paradise!

We provide well-maintained, fully furnished, high quality, affordable self catering holiday accommodation, each for two people - 2 self-contained one-bedroom apartments, and 4 en-suite glamping pods.  All bedding, bed linen, towels and electricity are included in the price, along with free, on-site, secure parking.  Our Facebook page (West Highland Way Holidays) lists all up-to-date information including local emergency information, where to eat, what to do.  We also provide a few extras to make sure you feel welcome, and won't want to leave!

LEVEN & LINNHE APARTMENTS

Two semi-detached, self-catering apartments (Leven & Linnhe Apartments, named after the local lochs) opened in 2005 and refurbished and renovated recently.  Guests have sole use of their apartment via a private entrance fitted with a key safe box for easy key location.

Each self-contained, private apartment is on the ground floor with no internal stairs, only entrance ramps and can sleep two adults.  There is central heating (via electric radiators) and plenty of hot water. The bedroom has either a king size or two twin beds (please state preference when booking).

NEVIS, COE, ETIVE & RIVERSIDE PODS

Our Pods are private, secluded, yet spacious and comfortable detached en-suite glamping pods sited next to the peaceful River Leven, within the village of Kinlochleven, which is on the West Highland Way. With spectacular views due West along Loch Leven, and the Mamores to your right, they have the perfect picturesque location. Each pod is accessed via a couple of steps, and all have heating and automatic hot water (included in the price).  Each Pod has a small double bed and a comfortable sofa, and we provide all bedding, bed linen and towels. There is a remote-controlled TV, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle, crockery and cutlery for two.  Nevis was first in 2018, then Coe & Etive Pods became ready to go in 2019, and finally Riverside Pod arrived in 2022.  Nevis and Coe were renovated in winter 2023, and Etive and Riverside have just been refurbished in March 2024.

WHY NEVIS, COE, ETIVE OR RIVERSIDE PODS?

We chose to name the first 3 pods after the local glens – Glen Nevis, Glen Coe and Glen Etive.  All three glens compete to be the most spectacular, and all are areas of outstanding natural beauty.  To our North lie the Mamores, a ten mile ridge to Glen Nevis, which includes ten Munros and Ben Nevis.  To the South, we have the Aonach Eagach ridge along the A82 in Glen Coe, which then passes Buchaille Etive Mhor through Alltnafeadh to the Glen Etive road, just before the Kings House Hotel and Glencoe Mountain Resort.

(EX-) KRT GARAGE

The building which houses Leven and Linnhe Apartments, and our house to the rear, used to be the Kinlochleven Road Transport (KRT) Garage.  This was where all the trucks that transported the aluminium from the factory were serviced and repaired.  We bought the old building in 2004 and renovated it to provide a residential dwelling house and two self-catering holiday apartments.  Many locals were interested in the new family and wanted to know what our plans for the building were, as many of them had worked in this very spot in years gone by.  We wanted to keep a sense of the building’s past so retained as much exterior as possible, and kept the original hand-painted sign for Linnhe Apartment’s bedroom wall.
